NEXCOM Bulgaria LLC held the first educational seminar of its kind - WiMAX services in favor of the business - on 9th of March 2007 in Sofia.  The potential of wireless WiMAX technology for delivering broadband internet, telephony and data transfer was presented and demonstrated.  The program included three lectures which presented the WiMAX technology, WiMAX services of NEXCOM and the company’s plans for development in the next several years. The seminar was attended by a large number of Bulgarian business professionals from the financial, insurance, banking, construction sectors etc.  All attendants had an opportunity to enrich their knowledge about the wireless technology and see a demonstration of the new services.

At the presentations it became clear that the participants in the seminar demonstrate strong interest in the technology and expect actual technical solutions for their needs, which NEXCOM will be able to offer.
 
Businesses in Bulgaria needs a broadband connectivity and data services which can be fully covered by WiMAX, that provides independence from the cable infrastructure, high speed access, fast installation in urban conditions and in the countryside and also which provides secure broadband connection unsusceptible of outside interference. 

NEXCOM endeavors to welcome Bulgarian businesses to the broadband community. The company plans to build a WiMAX network to cover all cities populated with more than 50 000 people by the end of the year. NEXCOM already offers WiMAX services such as broadband symmetric internet access, new generation CLASS 5 phone services, wireless leased lines and MAN services, 3DES  (encryption method for providing a secure connection).  Another application of WiMAX is in the area of telemetry solutions such as video surveillance, public safety, centralized management from one location, etc. The new feature of telemetry is the reverse connection, allowing remote control and manipulation.
NEXCOM attempts to satisfy the enlarging needs of specific business activities such as objects security, video surveillance of public places, remote billing at the delivery of utility services, etc. A presentation of the first completed WiMAX project, that of Bansko, was shown to the participants.  Bansko has been enjoying the benefits of WiMAX since the end of last year, and the benefits are evident.
The network also provides coverage for the surrounding cities – Dobrinishte, Bania, Razlog.

The demonstration of active WiMAX services was extremely popular and generated a great deal of interest as well as some very interesting questions. Besides the well-known services such as internet connection and telephony, the technical director of the company Veselin Nikolov presented Layer2 and Layer 3 connectivity, MAN and VPN solutions with different ways for the delivery of resources access and safety levels.  The end-user equipment that was used in the demonstration included different models IP phone adapters of Linksys, video surveillance server and IP cameras.
